Tickled Pink!

We are expecting a baby GIRL!!

I simply cannot wrap my mind around the joy of it all.

Anyone who reads my words regularly knows that I adore my little boys, in the heart-bursting, mind-boggling, hypnotizing way that is motherhood.  A third little boy was what we expected.  A little Peter.  We could not have been more surprised to discover this little bundle is a little lady!  A daughter!  Oh the sheer delight of it all!

There are so many beautiful names for girls, how ever does one choose?

Evelyn, Delphine (Ellie?), Charlotte, Sylvie, Vivienne, Rose, Lorelei, Caroline; we love them all!

Thank you for sharing in this joy with me!  My heart may burst!

  1. Congratulations! I read your previous post the other day and I think we may be in the same boat together. 🙂 I’m due with our 3rd baby in August (mid August) as well and was sick, sick, sick for the first 15-16 weeks. All day sickness that wouldn’t let up. I would almost be in tears at night laying on my husbands lap just exhausted and sick and yet thankful one more day had been accomplished. Although really I can’t complain, he took over alot of cooking, cleaning, baths even after a long days work. Bless him! And, we found out last Friday this 3rd baby is a girl! We have an 8 year old girl, a 3 (just about 4) year old boy, and then we’ll have another girl. Your photography is beautiful and I wish we lived anywhere near you, but we are in Fort Worth, Texas. 🙂 Far!

  2. So overjoyed that you will experience God’s goodness in your little girl now..we see the beauty of you being a mother of boys, I am one myself, although he is 26 :} It will be wonderful to see the little blossom that she will be, opening up in your photographs of her life, and life with her brothers. May God bless and keep your little family.

  3. I am really happy for you. I have three wonderful little boys, but I can imagine the shock and joy of finding out you are having a little girl. Best wishes for you in the rest of your pregnancy and birth and the joyful moment when you meet her.

  4. I’ve followed your blog for years and am so happy for you and your family! Evelyn or Vivienne-LOVE those names!

  5. Erin,

    Congratulations on your baby girl!

Your blog and your thoughts on mothering are so encouraging and refreshing! May you allow God to continue to renew you with His strength each day.

As far as a name for girls, someone gave me the BEST advice…

Remember, that name will be here name when she is 3, 23, 43, 63,…

What sounds cute at 3 could sound so juvenile at an older age.
And what sounds so adult-like at 3 could sound so elegant at an older age.

Best wishes! May your daughter inherit your AMAZING sense of style and beauty in the everyday!

  6. Oh my goodness! I’m so excited for you! A precious baby girl!!! Now you can indulge in ruffles, lace, dresses, and little mary janes!!! Enough exclamation points. I hope that you are feeling well and I know there will be beautiful photographs to come documenting all things girly.
I’m praying for another baby myself, if it is God’s will. I would be SO happy to have “my three sons” but you just never know- thinking about baby girls makes my heart beat a little faster. Maybe it’s because I’m so outnumbered over here, even my dog is a boy! 😉

  7. yay! what fun. congratulations, Erin and family! hope you’re feeling better now.
