Normal Day

“Normal day,

let me be aware of the treasure you are.

“Let me learn from you,

love you,

bless you before you depart.

Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.

Let me hold you while I may,

for it may not always be so.

One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world,

your return.”

  1. Beautiful…and so very true. Thanks for reminding me.

I bragged on your beautiful blog on mine a day or so ago; I hope I’ve sent a few more folks your way. Thanks for what you do!

  2. Thank you so much for this beautiful post! It has put a smile on my face, and brought sunshine to this otherwise gray, snowstormy day.
Just what I needed right at this moment!

  3. Another beautiful post, with gorgeous photos, as always. I love reading your posts and always know you’ll have the best images attached too. πŸ™‚ Where on earth do you find these perfect photos? Do you take them all yourself?

  4. Thank-you, Erin, for those words about a ‘normal day’. I don’t have many of them in my life and when they do appear, I almost don’t recognize them.

  5. Photos- I definitely cannot take credit for the majority of the photos on this blog! πŸ™‚ I try very hard to leave a source link for all photos, such as the ones in this post which I linked to the Tumblr site I found them on. Photos of my house, family, etc., like those in my 2009 Year in Seasons are my (amateur!) photography. πŸ™‚

  6. That was perfect for this ordinary day! Thanks so much for the reminder not to let today pass by. I don’t think I’ll ever make things perfect and balanced, and in trying I feel I am always letting the best of life pass me by to quickly! I’m going to snuggle with the kids:)
