We closed on the house today.

I keep reminding myself that we did not close on our home.

Thank you for all of the encouragement.

Now on to the next step in the journey . . .

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8

  1. Best Wishes Erin. You are so right, you didn’t close on your “home”, just a “house”. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for you.

  2. Erin,
As a young married couple, my ex and I did the same thing, bought a house that really stretched the budget. Those darned realtors act like you can afford the world and then reality sets in…. Our house wasn’t huge and beautiful but back in the 80’s those double digit interest rates really bit hard. I so loved that house. And when we sold it nine years later in order to build a new house, I went into a mini depression for a bit. With your creativity, you’ll work wonders no matter where you hang your hat, I just know it. Allow yourself a little time for a pity party and then forge forward. You’ve got a lot of friends out here really to cheer you on.

  3. I think you are such a strong person from reading you blog. And this is just another example of how you listen to God and try to follow his path. May you find peace in knowing that a home is where your family is.

  4. Congrats…and Good Luck with you new adventure! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and dreams….God has great plans ahead for you!

  5. Erin: Here are three little gems from God’s Word. Tuck them away in your heart…

“The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take.” Psalm 37:23

“I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go. I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8

  6. A big change with lots of big opportunity that God has prepared in advance for you. Blessings and joy.

  7. good luck with your new adventure! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you (and your creativity!) next!

  8. God will honor your sacrifice in beautiful ways beyond your comprehension. An abundant harvest will be in your future as you trust in Him…

Thank you for sharing your heart here. I have a small art piece I have created with the scripture from Isaiah 45:3 that I would like to give to you ~ if you will leave me your address in a comment on my blog, I won’t publish it (I moderate my comments before publishing any of them, or if you want to email me from my website email link: http://www.VioletSkiles.com ) Anyway, when I saw this scripture on one of your posts, I wanted to share one of these with you, if you will allow me to.

I came upon you from a blog list on another blog. Glad I did. I have found Rare and Beautiful treasures here. God Bless you and your family Erin!

  9. Erin, I feel as if I was lead to this blog for a reason. I can’t even remember how I came upon it. But it sticks with me. And I hadn’t read the entry about selling your home until today. Your home resonates with me deeply. Everything about is what I aspire to for my home. When I’m out buying something for my home and can’t decide or wonder it’ll give the wrong vibe I think of yours to help me decide. When I read of you selling my heart broke a little. But a house is always just a house until family and love make it a HOME. I feel like I came upon this blog because it was a path to God. I wanted to let you know, as hard as it to sell, your priorities are so in the right place. I wanted to ask you if you’ll keep this same blog and the pictures of your old new house while giving us new ones on the new old house? 🙂 God bless you and your new path.
