Dear December

Welcome back, old friend.  Please come in, the fire is warm.  I trust you packed your suitcase full of snow.  I have someone new for you to meet this year and I told him that together, you and I would teach him to make snow angels.
I am so glad you are right on time.  We have been waiting for you.
Cranberries never taste as tart without you, nor peppermint as sweet.
November keeps trying to sneak in and steal your magic, but don’t worry, we won’t let go of what is rightly yours.  We are faithful keepers of time and treasure.
Welcome, December and all your splendor.
We have been waiting just for you.
