For my young readers:
Hello dear friends, I am Miss Featherbloom! I am so glad you are here! Sharing my world and my animals with you brings me so much joy. I am writing this to you while sitting with Moses underneath my blooming dogwood tree . My, it is a beautiful world we live in and I hope I can show you just how beautiful and wonderful it is. I will teach you a secret and a trick: that is, how to be a joy-seeker. In your life you can always been on the look out for the small things that bring you joy and then learn to concentrate on those things. These are things that feel like a warm hug + a cozy blanket + a warm cup of hot chocolate + a sunshine meadow on a spring day. I know your world is busy (and I am sorry for that-silly, busy world!) -but this is a slow place and a happy place where the little things are the big important things: animals, seasons, nature (and ice cream!) Welcome to my world, let’s be joy-seekers together, shall we? Moses and I are so glad you are here.
For parent readers:
The heart behind Miss Featherbloom was to create a slow-paced, joy-filled world that parents could share with their children, one story at a time. In a world where things are often rushed, overscheduled, and now AI-powered, I wanted to share my small North Carolina hobby farm and its laid-back pace with the world, narrating its story by weaving together fiction and real life. All of the animals in Miss Featherbloom’s world are animals who live and are loved on my farm. They are illustrated to look just like their real-life selves. Perhaps someday our farmhouse will even be open for visitors and respite. I also wanted to provide you with resources to take pieces of Miss Featherbloom’s world into your own by ending each story with either a related recipe, music recommendation, gardening idea or craft. Overall my heart was to create something that you would want to share with your children because it filled your soul as much as theirs. I hope I have accomplished that here. Cheers! Erin (a.k.a. Miss Featherbloom)
