Prayers for Baby Stellan

Hallelujah Update!!

Baby Stellan's health has dramatically improved and he may even be released from the hospital to go home today. For more information and pictures of this lil' fighter, head over to MckMamma's blog, linked below.

Please pray for this precious miracle baby. Stellan was diagnosed with heart failure while he was still in the womb, and his parents were told he would not live. By the grace of God, Stellan was born healthy, healed, whole! He is a miracle. This week Stellan became very sick with RSV and now is being treated in pediatric intensive care. This condition is apparently unrelated to his prior heart problems but still very serious. You can read Stellan's story here. Please pray for this very special baby and his family.

Breath of Heaven

The first Christmas that my husband and I were married, we sent out Christmas cards with a message that I will always remember. The cards had a picture of an angel flying above Baby Jesus in the manger, placing a kiss on his precious baby cheek. The inscription read:

Tiny Breath of Heaven, How We Love You So.

I have always been profoundly moved by the concept of the Christ Child as a breath of heaven: the sacred, breath of life that is sweet, gentle and renewing.

Much is written this time of year about experiencing the true meaning of the Christmas season. It is far enough into December, that you have probably read several such articles. I'm not quite sure why, but this Advent season, God has reminded me repeatedly that it was through the coming of Christ, as a tiny baby, that God clothed himself in humanity and experienced the trials and triumphs and challenges of human existence. It is because God so loved the world that he sent his only Son; not only to die but to LIVE. So that whatever trial, whatever emotion, whatever challenge we face, we may rest assured, He understands. My eyes this Advent are upon the anniversary of the coming of the Lord to share in my human existence. I would invite you to close your eyes, and think of the heaviest burden you carry, and then feel the true miracle of Christmas; that the One who loves you more than you can possibly imagine, was born to earth to understand your walk, to empathize, to reconcile you to God the Father, and to be your Savior.

Oh tiny Breath of Heaven, how we love you so.

Peace and Blessings this Christmas season.

A Bassett Hound in the Snow: Part 2

Marvelous

One of my favorite bloggers, Seleta, shared this Christmas cake yesterday, and it was too pretty to not pass along! I'm not even going to bother with posting the recipe, because who has this kind of time this far into the holiday season?

Not you?

Me neither!

Christmas Bliss

These two pictures put a smile on my face today.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas

I grew up in the northern part of Michigan, where my parents still live, and where they are currently experiencing a record-setting snowfall. They had 15" over the weekend and another 12" last night. It's raining here in Indiana but these pictures make me happy that it looks like Christmas up north.

P.S. Can you spot the bassett hound?? He is in 2 of these pictures. :)

Stunning.

I stumbled on pictures of this darling beach cottage online and just had to share it. This is a whole lot of beautiful in just 1,000 sq. feet!

Crawling out from hibernation

We had such a nice, relaxing 4 day weekend, my body was literally in shock this morning when I drug it kicking and screaming back to work. If you are a client who called me today for legal advice, only to hear a grown woman sobbing in the background, I was merely mourning the end of the long holiday weekend.

We spent part of the weekend decorating the outside of the house for Christmas.

We spent the rest of the weekend recovering from Thursday's all out eat-fest with a diet of Pirates Booty, Diet Coke, and Season One of Mad Men on DVD. Throw in a couple (dozen) naps, and you can see why I was intoxicated by this new-found, if short-lived life of leisure.

How was everyone's thanksgiving? I hope you were blessed with peace and relaxation. :)
